It's Lent again.
Ah Nuts!
I'm not a fan.
Never have been.
Lent
is so
somber serious,
is so darn
dreary demanding.
All that
Prayer and Fasting!
OK,
maybe a
Wednesday Night
Lenten
Prayer Service,
but hey,
no feasting
and all that
fasting?
There goes
my morning coffee
and
my evening wine.
Not nice!
Any way we can flip
feast for fasting?
Well, we can!!
We can Fast Track
Fasting
to
Feasting
and weakling that I am
I can still have
my morning coffee
and
my evening wine.

We
Fast from accumulation and
Feast on largess.
Fast from nit picking and
Feast on broadening.
Fast from "churchy busy" and
Feast on soulful spirituality.
Fast from notoriety seeking and
Feast on noticing.
Fast from media drugging and
Feast on liveliness all about.
Fast from gloom and doom and
Feast on God positive possibles.
Fast from frightened excluding and
Feast on expansive including.
Fast from political violence and
Feast on communal care and justice.
Fast from frenetic scramble and
Feast on temperate cadence.
Fast from nature degrading and
Feast on God's Garden delights.
Fast from worry and
Feast in God's care.
Fast from judging and
Feast on affirming.
Fast from jealousy and
Feast on excellence all about.
Fast from solo silo living and
Feast on The Common Good.
Fast from playing God and
Feast on God happening as us.
Hey, after all these years
Lent is starting to look good.

I'll lift a cup of coffee
and
raise a glass of wine
to that!
