Dear All of Us,
Let's have a go
at something
a bit different.
This week ours is a
posting in
four short parts,
four little editions
of
TELLING
Here goes.
Will,
the Bard Boy
of Avon,
sure could tell a tale.
As gifted the telling,
mostly the tales
told trouble
to tragedy.
In that one sense
they are
much a match
for
today's troubled
and troubling
Media
TELLING
Minus the
artful telling,
our mass
and
not all that
sociable media
tell tales troubled.
It clouds to darken
our personal and
our corporate
consciousness.
If it isn't despotic
or inept leaders
worldwide,
it's mass shootings,
financial fretting,
globally a right
so far out
it falling fascist
and not all that
"right",
and a left so loose
in the joints
it's lost touch with
common sense
and
common folks
and is left
"out"
In both cases
maddened, manic
media
peddles
sleaze
entertainment,
vacuous,
hollowed out
nationalist religion,
wars torching
land and life,
nature having a
nervous breakdown.
A terrible telling.
Blessedly, fortunately,
happily,
there is a prior
ever present
endless
wondrous
not to miss
beautifully counter
TALE TELLING
It started
when things started
with a
Big Bang
a burst divine
of
Love Energy.
It roars and whispers
through all yesterdays,
every today,
joyously forthing forth.
It just gets
better and better.
It's on a Love Roll
that just will
never quit.
It is told
in
stars and seas
loyalties
and
languages
particles
and
planets
discoveries
inventions
chants and dance
love making
landscapes galore
spiritualities
and religions
caring and sharing
supporting
life that swims, flies,
and scampers,
in
families
friends
wheatfields
and flowers
sculpture
prose and poetry
music and canvas
endless evolving
creativity
Hey,
It's heralded
all over the place!
God Good Creation
What A
TELLING
It is a bursting of
WHAT
"IS"
of the
"I AM"
of
GOD
Infinite Goodness
pulsating passionate.
From the get-go
we people
were invited
intimate
with God.
We could go for
a walk together
in the cool
of the evening.
We were
so intimate,
as Genesis
tells the tale,
that we were
entrusted
with
Creation Care
TELLING
First Edition

The First Folks
though
got off center,
trashed
the theme thread.
They enjoyed and
knew good.
Sadly they suckered
into knowing evil.
Order disordered.
The energy swirl
was skewered painful
for people and planet.
Things thrown wacky.
Prophets and Patriarchs
promised a corrective
a new narrative
a refreshed
TELLING
Second Edition

The Love Energy
that is God
came alive
in our midst
in our skin
A renewed
redeeming
TALE TELLING
The Word
of
God
spoken human
personal
Jesus the Christ.
His person,
word and way
bespeaking
the gift of
divine intimacy,
the invitation to the
kin domain of
God Good.
In him wrong righted,
life for the deadened
through love life given,
resurrection lifted.

The Good News
Long on Love
Spirit sprung.
For all the dark,
we get to
live and give
Love Light
Our playbook
The Sermon on the Mount
and all the rest of
The Gospel
We tell the tale
practically, personally,
communionally
generously, unabashedly
joyfully,
in our lifestyle,
value system,
in our
Spirit
vibrant community.
We are
the medium
for the message.
We are
The Message Alive
and life giving.
We vigorously follow
the counsel
"Preach the Gospel.
Use words if you
absolutely have to."
