Dear All of Us,
CT
can mean
many things
from
body scan,
Central Time,
Chicago Tribune,
to Connecticut.
The meanest
of meanings is
CONSPIRACY
THEORIES
They are all
the rage
just now.
In fact,
rage
is an
essential
element
and
response.
The market for
CT
is so flooded
that many
are quickly
discounted.
No matter.
They flood flow
all over the place,
submerging
truth and reality.
CT
are sort of like:
- Not to worry,
Elon Musk
is just busy trying
to tidy things up
in the government
before he converts to
Roman Catholicism
and professes
perpetual vows
as a
cloistered monk
at the
Trappist
Monastery
of
Gethsemani
in rural
Kentucky
OR
- Chuck Schumer,
Democratic Senator
from
New York State
secretly owns
a farm hidden
in the
Catskill
Mountains
where he is
cross breeding
caged
conservative
cows
with free
(de?)ranged
liberal leaning
lambs.
It's about
that bad
but worse.
CONSPIRACY
THEORIES
are
down
not at all right
devilish,
as in
Satanic.
The worst
of the worst
just now
gets us going,
in a 24/7
hell
like this:
Our country,
this world,
is spinning
out of control.
We are in peril.
We need to wire
CNN or Fox News
to our brains
to keep up(set)
with it.
It must have
primacy of place
in all
conversations.
It must have
priority
in thought
and emotion.
CT
doesn't agitate
the hell out of us.
CT
agitates us
TO HELL
Net effect:
Our souls are
deprived of
spiritual
zest,
strength
and
resilience.
We're had.
Checkmate
and
match!!
We loose
and are lost,
immobilized
in the hell
of
constant
turmoil,
anxiety
and
futile fear.
We are
exhausted,
breath of soul
deprived.
C. S. Lewis pegs
the evil of this in
The Screwtape
Letters.
Senior tempter,
Screwtape,
coaches
junior tempter,
Wormwood,
in the diabolical
strategies
of
Soul Seduction:
"You wrap evil
in
apparent good."
In this case,
the wrap
is that
it's essential
to keep up
with what's
coming down
even if it
drags us down
with it.
Thus
attention,
preoccupation,
constant concern
sucks spirit
out of soul.
Yes,
our world
is spinning
out of control.
But
we don't have to.
Yes,
it's spiritually
responsible
to know
what going on.
But
we destroy
soul
if we fixate
on it.
We loose
our ability
to be
and do
the good
we can
where
and
as we can.
We end up
down,
depressed,
decommissioned.
Suggestions:
- we refuse to be
news neurotic
- we allow for
one and only one
news check a day,
- we get the gist
but don't ingest
every reporting
and
exhaustive detail
and
unending commentary
- we detach the
brain wiring from
CNN or Fox News.
- we vigorously
and
constantly
stay in
close
community
with others
committed
to living
Kingdom Life
together,
all of us
actively breathing
vigor
into the doings
of
daily life
here and now
- we take a pass
on conversations
dedicated to dread
- we remember that
our English word
"conspire"
comes from
the Latin
con = with
spiritus =breath
thus
"to breath with"
We choose to be
oxygenated
fresh, free
by the very
Holy Spirit
of
Life and Love
- we privately
and
communally
ask
The Spirit
to flush fresh
each other
and
all Creation
- we team up for
sacred resistance
in our
particular setting.
-we don't waste
time, attention
and energy
on matters
beyond our
control
or
influence.
- we find
all sorts
of ways
to have
fresh flowers
on life's table,
to be light bright
in the dark,
to sing hope,
to look out
for each other,
to celebrate
what we can
and morn
what we must.
No matter
how things spin
where we are
we don't get
talked out
of ourselves,
deprived of
a dynamic
spiritual life
fully operation
in how we
do everything
from drive, work,
socialize, recreate,
raise our kids,
be a practical
and substantive
church.
In yet
other words,
we do not let
the devil
steal our souls,
we do not let
the devil be
in the details
of our days.
There would be
hell to pay
and we are
better invested.
No deadening
Conspiracy
Theories
for us.
We con-spire
together
in
The Holy Spirit.
