Dear All of Us,
The Heartland.
"How do we
get there
from here?"
How do we get from:
- spiritually stalled out
to rerouted and rolling,
- single to married
and family,
- college to career,
- anxious to serene,
- "churchy" to spiritual,
- place defaced to
Creation Care
- inequity to social justice,
- weighed down to
fleet freed of soul?
- on our way
to where
we need to be,
as we need to be?
For starters,
we let go
to get go.
We let go
"as is"
for
"can be"
That's tough!
Takes
focus and faith
to see
what shows,
trust it,
stretch to it.
Trust to
get up
and
get going
by giving up
things like:
this location,
this persuasion,
this security blanket,
this habit,
this occupation,
this relationship,
this mode and manner,
this approach,
this God Core avoidance,
whatever has to go
so we can get go.
It takes a fluidity of faith,
a strong current
of redirection,
a God Given
SPIRIT SURGE
It takes
"Up and ant'em".
Otherwise,
metaphorically
speaking,
we sit stuck
in life's corner
watching TV for
the rest of our days.
That will mean
a life of
flickering fluff,
faux value,
ruinous reruns,
insipid stuff
to violent horrors
on screen
and in the mirror.
Here's
THE BIGGIE.
How do we get from
start
to
borderless
aliveness?
We deep listen.
We deep look.
We decidedly,
trustingly
embrace
our
God Core
and how
God would
flame forth
from us,
as us.
Paradoxically
that's where our
HEARTLAND
is
how it goes
We don't dither
designing
self and journey.
We embrace our
God centered core,
giftedness,
direction,
and journey
as offered,
at our core
from
God
Our Creator
and Core
We start
where we are.
We reference
again and again
Our GPS,
Our
"God Prompt
System, "
the guidance of
The Spirit:
what burns joyous
at our freest,
deepest self,
what child free
enthusiasm there
wants to
come out and play?
With trusting abandon
we embrace
the guidance of
The Beatitudes,
The Sermon
On The Mount
personally,
practically,
communally,
lived.
That's where
it happens.
That's from where
God flames out as us.
We eschew
(hey, haven't
used that term in
a week of Sundays)
the folly and fiction of
success, stuff, status,
satisfaction seeking.
We aren't out to get,
but to get going,
to get God Going,
to live out
the wisdom of
Meister Eckhardt:
"All God asks
of you
is to get out
of the way
and let God
happen as you."
Living our God Core
points steps next,
sometimes quickly,
sometimes
in a few seasons.
The Key
In the best sense
of it,
be self-centered,
not selfish,
but
self-centered
in our
God Core
That's our
HEARTLAND,
journey launch,
direction and
surprise of surprises
destination,
all start there.
From
The One
at our core
we meet
The All
that can be.
Outward starts
inward
Praying us all
Travelling Mercies
to and from
our
HEARTLAND
