Dear All of Us,
"HE DOSEN'T HAVE A PRAYER."
That's a rather bleak fate.
And just who is
this hapless
"he"
anyway?
Well, when it comes to prayer,
anyone who gets through
The Lord's Prayer
in under a minute for sure.
HE/SHE DOESN'T HAVE A PRAYER.
It's like trying to have
a marital union during
a commercial break on TV.
No good! No go!
Communication
is reduced to
the equivalent of
an elevator speech
- canned and fast.
Good to check it out
at church next Sunday
and with our own
private prayer.
We rush
The Lord's Prayer
to
rote routine.
It's too sacred good
for that.
So, let's take
a closer look-listen.
Jesus gave us both
word and approach
to prayer
Matthew 6:5-13
Honestly, we do best
to only offer
The Lord's Prayer
when we have time
to slow go,
to sink into
every sacred
sentiment and sense
of it
After all,
they are
directly from Jesus.
Jesus tells us to go apart,
close the door
and
pray to our Father
in
secret
This is not public prayer.
This is privileged
intimacy,
parent-child
togetherness.
No need for lots of words.
Jesus gives us a few
that do it beautifully
for starters.
They are too wondrous
to rush callous casual.
So, together let's pause
and
prayerfully ponder the
sacredness
of them.
"OUR"
We are not loners.
We are at one
with all Creation.
We come from,
we live a
sacred communion
with all
people and places,
each unique,
yet so unified
down deepest
that there is
no "other" to it.
Paradoxically
we are a
Differently One.
Definitely it is
"OUR"
"FATHER"
The Hebrew here is
"Abba."
In contemporary English
it translates
most fully
and
authentically
as
"Daddy".
Daddy playfully
sweeps us up,
the both of us
riotously gleeful.
Safe, wanted,
treasured,
he settles us
snug on his lap.
We hug and kiss.
We play.
We talk
hurt, heart,
need, hope, joy.
We quiet rest,
a safe and peaceful
union
"Daddy" and us.
Solid safe sacred.
"WHO ART
IN HEAVEN"
Our Father
is himself
Realm Real,
is himself
heaven
sky high
on earth,
here, there,
everywhere.
Our Father is
Presence,
Atmosphere
of
rightness, bliss,
warming unity,
fiery creative.
"HALLOWED BE"
Reverenced
be the
treasured chamber
of awe
enshrining
the very name
of
Abba
"THY NAME"
In Hebrew the name
is the person.
Absolute equivalency.
Abba
Divinity Pronounced
Personal
"Daddy"
"THY KINGDOM"
Life in The Presence.
The Presence shared
in
Community Real-Right.
All unique, yet One,
in the
Kin Domain
"COME"
Anticipation urged.
Advent active.
Creation unfolding.
Fresh full.
Eternal Right Now.
"THY WILL BE DONE"
Abba's
presence and way
actualized
in ours
"ON EARTH
AS IN HEAVEN"
Realm Real realized.
Here and now.
Open border unto
borderless
LOVE LIFE
ONENESS
"GIVE US THIS DAY"
Need aware.
Trust seeking.
Right now ready.
"OUR DAILY BREAD"
Nourishment sought
for
spirit, body, mind, heart,
community.
Sustenance to share.
"FORGIVE OUR
TRESPASSES"
Our missteps
straighten aright.
"Give For" us
that lost by our
wandering wrong.
"AS WE FORGIVE
THOSE WHO
TRESPASS
AGAINST US"
Open Souled Forgiveness
accepted and shared.
Equivalency.
Reconnected reconnecting.
"LEAD US NOT INTO
TEMPTATION"
Help us not
follow fall-phony.
"BUT DELIVER US
FROM EVIL"
Guide us good.
Guide us God.
It's
Daughter/Lad Dad
Time
Way too God Good to rush.
WE SURE DO HAVE A PRAYER
