Dear All of Us,

It's far from fluffy lite.
Please stick with it.
Please read all of it.
Not because
it's so darn good,
but because
it's so darn critical.
Please read all of this.
Slowly.
Pray it.
Ponder it.
Give it wide welcome,
head and heart.
Hopefully then
TAKE HEART
We're in trouble.
Let's face it.
Civilization and planet
are in peril.
They may not make it -
literally, actually.
It's terribly possible
or worse.
That's why I ask us all
to stick with this,
to read all of it
and that with
the eyes of the soul.
We are using up
the resourses of six planets.
We only have one,
and we are abusing it to death.
World leaders just aren't and can't,
except to hasten hell on earth.
The few have the most.
The most don't have enough.
Few are in communion with
The Common Good
as value and guide.
Religion has lost it's soul.
Technology has gotten
ahead of us and the lead
is a spin out, trip up, pile on.
Standing on clouds of
media and political illusions
has replaced a firm footing,
one
Reality Based,
and so sadly much
just falls through
dashed in
delusional disappointment.
Consciously, unconsciously,
or in blinded denial,
we nevertheless
wrestle with all this and
in that wrestling
so many of us
are pinned in fear,
losing heart and match.
Can we ever
TAKE HEART
hoping to win?
We sure can.
God is bedrock Reality.
That's where/how
we take our stand.
That's where/how
we place our hope.
"GOD IS LOVE"
and
loves us
passionately.
That love energy
powers victory.
That love energy
winds to a win
no matter
the opposition.
Life is a wrestling match.
It calls for a "flat out", full
GO
We move and maneuver,
position for good.
We just don't give up
Ever
We let the deep down of us,
the presence and power
of God Love that is our core,
surge through us.
That goes for us as individuals
and us as a community.
We do all we can to be
REAL
in
attitude, value,
effort and action
based in the
REALITY
and
ENERGY
that is
GOD LOVE
We stretch
We struggle
for
justice.
Our game plan is
The Common Good.
We let play through us
the surge of creation
and redeeming recreation.
We're not only going to survive,
we are going to thrive.
All around us may fall apart.
We won't.
The demons of Empire
raping reality,
putting civilization
and planet in peril
will not prevail.
We will because
love wins.
They are no match
for our team.
No matter
how tough,
how sinister,
how perverse,
the push and power
of Empire's evil,
we will take it to the mat
pin it,
pin it flat
for the count and out.
TAKE HEART

"So, what do you think?
With God on our side like this,
how can we lose?
If God didn't hesitate
to put everything on the line for us,
embracing our condition
and exposing himself to the worst
by sending his own Son,
is there anything else
he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?
And who would dare tangle with God
by messing with one of God's chosen?
Who would dare even to point a finger?
The One who died for us
- who was raised to life for us! -
is in the presence of God
at this very moment sticking up for us.
Do you think anyone is going to be able
to drive a wedge between us
and Christ's love for us?
There is no way!
Not trouble, not hard times,
not hatred, not hunger,
not homelessness,
not bullying threats,
not hunger,
not backstabbing,
not even the worst sins
listed in Scripture:
They kill us in cold blood
because they hate you.
We're sitting ducks,
they pick us off one by one.
None of this fazes us
because Jesus loves us.
I'm absolutely convinced
that nothing -
nothing living or dead,
angelic or demonic,
today or tomorrow,
high or low,
thinkable or unthinkable -
absolutely nothing can get
between us and God's love
because of the way that
Jesus our Master embraced us."
Romans 8: 31-39
